- In a recent survey of 2,000 Americans conducted by CloudTrucks and titled “How America Thinks and Talks Trucks,” respondents overwhelmingly said “truck drivers play a crucial role in the economy” (80%), and sympathize with truckers for “frequently” having to “encounter aggressive or unsafe behaviors from other motorists” (43%). .
- In the same CloudTrucks survey as above, when asked about what they would think if they met a truck driver in a social setting, almost half of the respondents (48%) said they would have respect for their hard work, sacrifices and contributions to society.
- After an extensive passenger vehicle crash investigation in Las Vegas, in November 2023 the National Transportation Safety Board issued a formal recommendation to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and 17 car manufacturers to require Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) technology in all new cars.
