According to the National Transportation Institute’s “National Survey of Driver Data,” base mileage pay for professional drivers across all experience levels is up 4% in the 3rd quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year. Also, the number of fleets providing recruiting incentives like sign-on bonuses and referral bonuses is also up in the 3rd quarter of 2023 compared to the 3rd quarter of 2022.
NHTSA’s recently released “Early Estimates of Motor Vehicle Traffic Fatalities For the First Quarter of 2023” shows the 1st quarter of this year represents the fourth straight quarterly decline in fatalities after 7 consecutive quarters of year-to-year increases beginning in late 2020.
