Total net revocations of motor carrier authorities have been at record levels in the past two months, with 6,300 being recorded in June following a month that saw 9,300 revocations. Diesel prices are, at least in part, to blame along with a natural rebalance following a 2021 which saw over 100,000 new authorities granted. Some say its doesn’t represent a change in trucking capacity however, as many of the new authorities granted were to single truck operation, which may have returned to working for larger carriers.
