With a career spanning more than 25 years with some of the nation’s largest fleets, David O’Neal has joined STC in the role of Senior Associate. O’Neal will combine his skills and regulatory knowledge with Co-Directors P. Sean Garney and Steve Keppler to grow STC’s ability to provide its clients more robust services in compliance, training, the establishment of safety strategies, program development, organizational structure and other best practices.
Most recently Vice President of Safety at Yellow Corp., O’Neal started in the industry at American Freightways, now FedEx Freight, in 1996. In addition to other positions of increasing responsibility, he served as Managing Director of Safety at both FedEx Freight and FedEx Ground. O’Neal was also the first Safety Director – later Vice President of Safety – for the Arkansas Trucking Association, where he acted as a resource and subject matter expert on safety and regulatory issues for carriers of all sizes. While at the Arkansas Trucking Association, he created both carrier- and public-facing safety programs which have been recognized with the American Trucking Associations’ Excellence in Safety Award.
O’Neal is a Certified Director of Safety (CDS) through the North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI) and a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.
